Privacy policy

Last updated: June 2026

Wedding Forecast (“we”, “us”) operates weddingforecast.co.uk. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. We comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where visitors access this site from the European Economic Area, we also apply the EU GDPR. Additional rights for California residents and other international visitors are described below.

Data we collect

When you submit the form on our landing page we collect your email address, your venue name and coordinates, and your wedding date. When you proceed to checkout we also collect the names you enter for the report cover. We do not collect payment card details: those are handled directly by Stripe and never reach our servers.

How we use it

We use your data solely to generate your Wedding Forecast report and deliver it to your inbox. We do not use it for marketing without your explicit consent, and we do not sell it to third parties.

Legal basis for processing

Processing is necessary for the performance of the contract you enter into when you purchase a report (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Where we retain data beyond contract fulfilment (for example to handle support queries or refund requests), our basis is legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). Where we use your data for advertising analytics via Meta Pixel, our basis is legitimate interests; you may object to this at any time (see Your rights below).

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use the following cookies and tracking technologies on this site:

  • Meta Pixel (Facebook). We use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to understand how visitors interact with our site. The Pixel sets cookies (_fbp, _fbc) on your device and sends event data (such as page views and purchases) to Meta Platforms Inc. in the United States. You can opt out of Meta’s use of your data for advertising at facebook.com/settings.
  • Session cookie. A short-lived session cookie maintains the state of your form submission during checkout. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
  • Google Fonts. Our site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may transfer your IP address to Google servers. Google’s privacy policy applies to this transfer.

We do not use cookies for advertising personalisation beyond the Meta Pixel described above.

Third-party processors

We share your data with the following processors only to the extent necessary to deliver the service:

  • Stripe (US). Payment processing. Stripe is PCI DSS compliant and certified. See stripe.com/gb/privacy.
  • Google Firebase / Firestore (Belgium). Order and lead storage. Data is hosted in the europe-west1 region.
  • SendGrid / Twilio (US). Email delivery of your PDF report. SendGrid retains email activity logs for 30 days.
  • Vercel (US). Web hosting. Vercel may log request metadata (IP address, user agent) for up to 30 days for security purposes.
  • Google Maps Platform. Venue address autocomplete. Only your typed venue search is sent to Google: we do not share your email or wedding date with Google.
  • Meta Platforms Inc. (US). Advertising analytics via Meta Pixel (see Cookies above).

Where personal data is transferred to countries outside the UK or EEA, we rely on standard contractual clauses or the UK’s international data transfer agreements to ensure an adequate level of protection.

Retention

We retain order records (email, venue, date, names, payment reference) for seven years for accounting and legal compliance purposes. Generated PDF reports are stored in Firebase Storage for 14 days after delivery, then automatically deleted. Lead records (submitted before purchase) are retained for 12 months. If you ask us to delete your data earlier, we will do so except where retention is required by law.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data
  • Restrict or object to processing (including objection to processing based on legitimate interests)
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@weddingforecast.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (UK) or your local supervisory authority (EEA).

California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your information, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. To exercise your rights, email hello@weddingforecast.co.uk.

International visitors

This service is primarily designed for UK wedding venues and is governed by UK law. If you access it from outside the UK, your data will be processed in accordance with this policy. Where local law provides additional rights, we will honour those rights on request.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively reduce your rights without notifying you.
